TicketMaker for iPhone

Daily  Racing Form’s TicketMaker application for the iPhone is designed to help bettors make smarter multi-race wagers from the comfort of their iPhone. Now you can take TicketMaker with you on the go – to the track, to a local betting facility, or to anywhere else you bring your iPhone!

What is TicketMaker?
TicketMaker is a handicapping tool which helps you make the most out of your handicapping by showing you smarter ways to cover more bets in multi-race wagers.

Developed by Daily Racing Form and based off of algorithms created by Steven Crist, TicketMaker allows you to set your budget, select and categorize your horses for each leg of a multi-race wager, and TicketMaker will output your tickets.

By putting TicketMaker on your iPhone, it’s now easier than ever to walk up to a betting window and call out the bets that TickerMaker lays out for you.

How to use

Overview
Once you have launched the TicketMaker application on your iPhone, you will tell the program what type of race you want to play (pick 3, pick 4, pick 5, or pick 6). You will then input your desired budget and the base bet. If you are trying to bet $0.10 superfectas, for example, you can change the $ sign to a @ sign.

Next, you will use the wheel to classify horses based on your handicapping. The classifications are as follows:

A – Primary contender(s) and top selections, or slightly less likely winners who you think will be extreme overlays.
B – Reasonable contender(s) who will keep you alive with other A's and B's but not with C horses.
C – Marginal or unlikely winners you can't entirely eliminate but whose winning would force you to get home A's in all other races.
X – Horses who you are completely eliminating.
ALL – Select all entries in this race

Once you have labeled your horses in each leg, TicketMaker will create your tickets while trying to stay as close as possible to your budget. You can make adjustments to these tickets (either enhance the value of the base bet, or remove the ticket altogether) in the “edit” screen.

Finally, you will see a “tickets” screen, which you can call out word-for-word to a mutuel clerk, or which will help you while making your bet through an automated betting machine.
