DRF Wireless FAQ

Should I allow socket connection made by DRF Mobile application to drfmobile.drf.com?

Yes. BlackBerry security features include prompting users to allow or deny external network sockets connections made by applications. In the case of DRF Mobile, the device displays "The application DRF Mobile has requested a socket connection to drfmobile.drf.com."

On the prompt, please make the following selections:

- (Recommended) For the statement of "Don't ask this again for:" please select the "socket connections to drfmobile.drf.com" option. You can make the selection by moving the cursor on the checkbox next to it and pressing the "space" key.

- (Mandatory) Move the cursor on the "Allow this connection" button and press the "enter" key. The application then starts loading data.

Why am I getting the error message "Please use a mobile browser instead of a desktop browser"?

You are getting this error message because you are trying to download DRF Wireless to a device that does not support it. Right now, BlackBerry and Pocket PC devices are the only types of handheld wireless devices that will allow you to download DRF Wireless. If you have another type of device, (iPhone, Moto Q Smartphone, etc), you will have to access the WAP version of the application using the Internet browser on your device. The WAP address will be emailed to you once you click the "download" link above.

The difference between downloading DRF Wireless (something BlackBerry and Pocket PC users can do) and accessing the DRF Wireless WAP application is mostly cosmetic. The same information is available for both versions, however the WAP version looks more like a traditional web page.
